She was predeceased by: her parents, John Gross and Thelma Gross (Vantine); her daughter-in-law Kay Shamel; and her siblings, Ruth Myers, Carlton, Bill, John and Burton.
She is survived by: her husband George Shamel; her children, Donna Chesnut (Dennis), Leslie Shamel (Nancy), Bonnie Devereaux (James) and Thomas Shamel (Carrie); and her grandchildren, Sherry, Lonnie, Christy, Danny, Jason and Linna. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
