He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer E. Darnell and Thelma Darnell (Johnson); his sister Ruthann Rogers (Frank); and his parents-in-law, William and Neltha Murphy.
He is survived by: his wife Phylis Darnell (Murphy); his daughters, Debbi Gooch (John) and Michelle Darnell Martinez; and his grandchildren, Michael (Heather), Marissa (Jake), Matthew (Ashley), Megan, Tyler, Peyton, Blake, Grant and Olivia. He is also survived by Several great grandchildren and beloved nieces & nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Swartz Funeral Home (1225 W Hill Rd, Flint, MI 48507). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
