He is survived by: his wife Reola Brooks of Flint, MI; his children, Harlow Brooks of Flint, MI, Calton Brooks (Brenda) of Texas and Mari Jean of Oak Park, MI; his stepchildren, Berry Wells (Melinda) of Flint, MI, Superintendent James Wells (Rita) of Flint, MI, Elliott Wells of Flint, MI and Dale Wells (Nicole) of Flint, MI; his granddaughter Monica Hammond; his siblings, Vinnie Brown (John) of Flint, MI, Katie Brooks of Flint, MI, Gracie of Flint, MI, Columbus Brooks (Rosie) of Flint, MI and Joseph Brooks (Birdie) of Flint, MI; his sister-in-law Ida Buchanon; and his cousins, Corrie, Loina and Hemp Brackett. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Legacy Funeral Chapel (1009 E Stewart Ave, Flint, MI 48505). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church (1601 Chippewa St, Flint, MI 48503). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 12:45 PM to 1:00 PM at the Gracelawn Cemetery (5710 Saginaw St, Flint, MI 48505).
