He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyce Sr. Buckner and Hazel Buckner (Green); his siblings, Alberta Mitchell and Boyce Buckner Jr.; and his son-in-law Kelvin N. Scott.
He is survived by: his children, Phyllis Buckner Scott of Lansing, MI, Eloise "Toni" Jarrett of Flint, MI and Bryan Buckner of Union City, GA; his grandchildren, Eric Buckner (Paula) of Columbus, OH, Alexis Scott of Corpus Christi, TX, Nyla Burnette of Atlanta, GA, Ebone Charles of Hurst, TX and Sumika Jarrett-Riddle of Lawrenceville, GA; his great grandchildren, Marlin Riddle II (Alisha) of Feucht and Micah Riddle of Lawrenceville, GA; and his great great grandchild Marlin "Tre" Riddle III. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
