He is survived by: his son John LaWayne Welch (Kay) of Burton, MI.; his sister Linda Slater of California; his grandchildren, John Welch II (Melissa), Candace Duggan (Cody), Brandi Welch, Micheal Watkins (Nicole), Barbara Crump (Anthony), Nicole Cooper, Joseph Giordano and Curtis Giordano; and his great grandchildren, Ella Baum, Elisha Welch, Jesse Vanderpool, Autum Vanderpool, Kaleb Welch, Oliver Welch, Olivia Powell and Harper Watkins.
