He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Vernon and Frances I. Vernon (Smith); and his siblings, Helen Gaines, James Vernon, David Vernon and Patrick Vernon.
He is survived by: his siblings, Joseph Roscoe Vernon and Susan Morin (Thomas) of Erie; and his sister-in-law Patricia Vernon of Plymouth. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
