She is survived by: her mother Corine Simmons Threlkeld; her children, Jamila Whitaker (Jerome) of Oak Park, MI and Yannick Simmons-Coleman of Glendale, AZ; her siblings, Regina Simmons of Flint, MI and Byron Simmons of Denver, CO; her granddaughters, Jordyn Thomas and Amari Simmons-Coleman; her nieces, Raven, Kaejah, Beonka and Deasia; and her great-nephews, Bryce Simmons-Griggs and JaKayne White.
