Margaret Rough Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Margaret Rough of Flint, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 20, 2026 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Burke and Ada Burke; her husband Lew; and her grandson William Patrick Rough. She is survived by: her children, Deborah Rough (Gerry Pierce), Christine Rough, Lewis Rough IV, Frances Waggoner (Kevin Waggoner), William Rough (Juliana Huston_Rough), Patricia Nemeth (James Nemeth) and Marjorie Padisak (Michael Padisak); her grandchildren, David Priestly, Mary Liz Priestly (Owen Adolphsen), Wesley Pierce (Holly), Allison West (Brian), Joseph Rough (Jennifer), Mary Margaret Quinn (Tim), Jacob Cook (Grace), Kevin Waggoner (Allison Treleaven), Ryan Waggoner, Michael Pajtas, William J. Rough, Kristi Anderson, Arthur Nemeth (Jasmine), Sol Skvader, Samantha, Maya and Olivia Padisak; and her sister-in-law Carolann Rough. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 28th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Swartz Funeral Home (1225 W Hill Rd, Flint, MI 48507). A rosary was held on Wednesday, January 28th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, January 29th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the St. John Vianney Catholic Church (2415 Bagley St, Flint, MI 48504).
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to St. John Vianney Catholic Church, St. John Vianney Catholic School in Flint, Powers Catholic High School or Heartbeat of Greater Flint.
