The family announces the passing of Marvis Sordyl of Flint, Michigan on September 23, 2026. Marvis, born on February 13, 1939, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ward Grow and Josephine Grow (Robson); her son David; her brother Donald; and her son-in-law Frank.
She is survived by: her husband Howard Sordyl; her daughters, Teresa (Tim), Laura (Tod), Ann Marie (Bob), Mary Kay (Terry) and Rhonda; her grandchildren, Steven (Shandel), Andrew, James, Joseph, Joshua, Cori (Ryan), Kent, Claire, Michael (Sidnee), Mitchell and Adam; her great grandchildren, Bryson and Carson; her sister Marlene; and her daughter-in-law Joan. She is also survived by many other family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church (5191 Richfield Rd, Flint, MI 48506). A burial will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM at the New Calvary Catholic Cemetery (4142 Flushing Rd, Flint, MI 48504).
