She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Joe and Thelma Troupe Sherrod; her husband George Pouncy, Jr.; her children, Elonda Maureen Mitchell and Edrean Marcel Mitchell; her brother Charles Sherrod; her niece Angela Bundle; her siblings-in-law, Carl Pouncy, Ronald Pouncy and Renette Pouncy-Jones; and the father of her children Eugene Mitchell.
She is survived by: her brother Robert Burke; her son Montoya Mitchell; her siblings, Carolyn Simington (Archie), LaNila Sherrod and Vincent Sherrod (Irene); her granddaughter Milena Mitchell; her mother-in-law Mamie Pouncy; her siblings-in-law, Dwayne Pouncy (Darlene) and Judy Delores Pouncy; her stepchildren, George Pouncy, III, Courtney Pouncy (Kim) and Cynthia Pouncy; Janet Davis. She is also survived by Numerous Nieces and Nephews, and Friends; her Brothers and Sisters.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Legacy Funeral Chapel (1009 E Stewart Ave, Flint, MI 48505). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Church of Christ G (G2296 W Carpenter Rd, Flint, MI 48505). A reception will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location. After the pandemic, she began teaching bible classes on the phone.
