He was predeceased by: his parents, Loren Dear and Emily Dear (LaBean); and his siblings, John Dear and Shirley Kerouac. He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Smeage; his sons, Michael (Cynthia Dear), Paul (Amma Dear) and Joseph (Cynthia Dear); his grandchildren, Michael, II, Amy, Nicole, Hannah, McKayla and Jacob; and his great grandchildren, Megan and Mason. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
