He was predeceased by: his wife Bonnie Nelson. He is survived by: his children, Greg (Brenda) and Sherri; his grandchildren, Gregory, Amy, Eric, Kerri, Kyle, Kory and Eddie; and his siblings-in-law, Pat (Doug), Shirley (Duane), Shirlene (Dennis) and Jimmie (Sue). He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
