Vernon; his siblings, Rev. Keith Jones (Barbara) of Spokane, Washington and Teri Chambry (Roy Jr.) of Burton, Michigan; his uncle Cohen Washington Jr. of Flint, Michigan.; his cousins, Shelley Roper (Darrell) of Genesee, Kellie Smith (Aaron) of Rochester Hills and Jeri Washington of Burton, Michigan; his nieces and nephews, Latecia Owoiya (Quadri) of St. Clair Shores, Stacey Edmonson of Detroit, Leatha Miles-Edmonson of Milwaukee, Imon Edmonson of Brooklyn, Robert Smith of Miami and Davis Smith; his mother-in-law Adrienne Edmonson of Detroit, Michigan; and his siblings-in-law, William Edmonson Jr. (Heather) of Virginia, Adrienne Marie Edmonson of Detroit and Donna Edmonson of Atlanta, Georgia. He is also survived by cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Steven later became an integral part of the Apollo Theater Foundation, serving as Lighting Director and Director of Production & Touring.
