He is survived by: his children, Thomas "T. J." Royal (Joy) of Mt. Morris, Joanne Dunavant (Bill) of Ypsilanti and Barbara Furno (Andy) of Clarkston; his grandchildren, Matthew Dunavant (Jessie), Christopher Dunavant, James Sutherland, Danyelle Gilliam (Richard) and Evan Furno; and his great grandchildren, Archer, Aiden, Eva, Caleb and Bailey. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
