He was predeceased by: his wife Susan Teel; his granddaughter Jamie Teel; and his brother Bruce V. Teel. He is survived by: his children, Suzanne Leidi (Mike), Steven G. Teel, Bill L. Teel, Frances L. Coha and David V. Teel; his grandchildren, Shannon, Heather, Sarah, Krista, Carole, Andrew, Bryan, Austin, Julia, Will and Tiffany; his brother Brian G. Teel (Linda); and his former wife Nancy Teel. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
