He was predeceased by: his sister Theresa Ann Cavanaugh; and his sisters-in-law, Dr. Thirza Smith and Janet Cavanaugh. He is survived by: his children, John "Jack" (Patricia "Tricia"), Daniel Liam Cavanaugh (Hannah Duerr) and Erin Colleen Cavanaugh; his grandchildren, Teresa, Kelly, Maggie, Addison, Kennedy and Eden; his former wife Gloria Jean Cavanaugh; and his siblings, Dennis Cavanaugh (Pamela), Frances Ellen Smith (Frederick) and Michael J. Cavanaugh.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Plumb-Smith Funeral Home (1208 N Ballenger Hwy, Flint, MI 48504). A prayer will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. John Vianney Catholic Church (2319 Bagley St, Flint, MI 48504).
