He was predeceased by : his parents, Boyd R. Cales and Lola Cales (Richmond); and his siblings, Owen Cales, Lemuel Cales, Jennings Cales, Archie Cales and Ethel Marie Cales.

He is survived by : his wife Ella Mae Cales; his daughters, Rhonda Cales and Cindy Thomas (Greg); his grandchildren, Leah Sarrazin, Logan Sarrazin, Brooke Thomas and Brody Thomas; and his sister-in-law Jessie Cales. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
