It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Katherine Gerstheimer of Flushing, Michigan, who passed away on April 7, 2026, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilhelm Gutwein and Katherine Gutwein (Koch); and her sister Mary Febel. She is survived by: her husband Jacob; her children, Kathy Wickes (Robert), Gary Gerstheimer and Christian Gerstheimer (Tracy Speaker-Gerstheimer); her grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Jodi, Haley, Courtney, Lorin and Jacob; and her brother Otto Gutwein (Leni). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Katie's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Macular Degeneration Foundation.
