He was predeceased by: his parents, Orel Smith and Neva Smith; his sons, Jeffery Smith and Gregory Smith; and his siblings, Janette, Warren and Beatrice.
He is survived by: his wife Connie; his stepchildren, Duane Soper (Lisa), Steve Soper (Monique) and Vikki Inman (Harold); his grandchildren, Alicia, Dani, Rachel, Carter, Garrett, Sydney and Hunter; and his friends, David, Larry, Francis and Nick. He is also survived by 3 great- grandchildren (soon to be 4) and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Caterer Family Funeral Home (307 E Main St, Flushing, MI 48433). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
The family requests any memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association or the Flushing Senior Center.
