He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harry Potbury and Viola Potbury (McLeish); his wife Mary Potbury; his children, John Potbury, Susan Valley (Matt), Jennifer Chapman (Jon) and Amy Hopkins (Blair); his grandchildren, Megan, Katelyn, Shannon, Jacob, Abby, Bryce (Clarissa), Kaylee and Shea; his great grandchild Bodhi; his brothers-in-law, Eddie Goggins and Tommy Goggins; and his close friend Howard Melrose (Sonja). He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Catholic Charities of Genesee County.
