It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James E Kern of Fort Gratiot, Michigan, who passed away on January 19, 2026, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Kern and Ethel Kern; his grandson Joshua James Avedisian; and his brothers, Bill and Allen Kern.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia; his daughters, Andrea Hartson (Ron) and Trina Avedisian; his grandchildren, Patrick Hartson (Elissa) and Audrey MacDonald (Ben); and the mother of his children Mary L. Stevens. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
