It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Karl A Schmidt Jr. of Fort Gratiot, Michigan, who passed away on June 7, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Karl A. Schmidt and Helen A. Schmidt; and his brother Jim Schmidt. He is survived by: his children, Karl Schmidt III, Karri Bloemer (Joe) and Kirk Schmidt; his grandchildren, Jordan Rushlow, Andrew Rushlow, Scout Schmidt and Chance Schmidt; his great grandchildren, Gavin, Mason and Hudsyn Rushlow; his stepdaughter Julie Hinson (Eric); and his sister-in-law Janet Schmidt. He is also survived by his wife, children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, June 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home (1720 Elk St, Port Huron, MI 48060). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
