He was predeceased by: his parents, Karl A. Schmidt and Helen A. Schmidt; and his brother Jim Schmidt. He is survived by: his children, Karl Schmidt III, Karri Bloemer (Joe) and Kirk Schmidt; his grandchildren, Jordan Powell (Bruce), Andrew Rushlow (Carly), Scout Schmidt and Chance Schmidt; his great grandchildren, Gavin, Mason and Hudsyn Rushlow; his stepdaughter Julie Hinson (Eric); and his sister-in-law Janet Schmidt. He is also survived by his wife, children and grandchildren.
