He was predeceased by: his father Delmer Tackett; his sister-in-law Debra Tackett; his niece Jennifer; and his nephew Jamie. He is survived by: his mother Betty Jo Tackett (Estep); his children, Ashley Tackett-Johnson of Lapeer, Jimmy Pearse (Shalini Patel) of Shreveport, Lindsay Webb (Bryan) of Chesterfield, Nathan Tackett (Libby) of Marshall and Seth Tackett (Felicity) of Lapeer; his grandchildren, Hal, Drew, Skylar, Layney, Sathvik, Kavya and Keegan; and his siblings, Pam Marsh (Randy) of North Carolina, Belinda Hoyt (Don) of Columbiaville, Rick Tackett of Fostoria and Karen Staley of Columbiaville.
