He was predeceased by : his parents, Gerald Halbert and Velma E. Halbert (Frutig); his wife Jennie Halbert (Laudenslager); and his sister-in-law Bobbie Halbert. He is survived by : his daughters, Traci Kuis and Jodi Pio; his grandchildren, Alicia Pio and Andrea Parker; his great grandchildren, Emmit Parker, Ivy Parker and Logan Wnuk; and his siblings, Gene Halbert (Joyce) and Garry Halbert. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes (411 E Centre Ave, Portage, MI 49002). A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mt. Ever Rest Memorial Park South (3941 S Westnedge Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49008).
