Daniel Norman Archibald, known to many as Roadkill, passed away on July 20, 2026, at his home, leaving behind a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a steady presence that will be deeply missed. He was born on January 12, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, and he spent his early years in the city before his family moved to Fowlerville in 1967. He was the son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend whose memory will remain cherished by all who knew him. There was not a person Dan did not share his love of Jesus with!!

Dan was a man who carried himself with quiet strength and unmistakable character. He was intelligent, courageous, and loving, and those qualities shaped the way he lived his life and the way he treated others. He was the kind of person who could be counted on in good times and bad, and he earned the respect of family, friends, and coworkers through his honesty, loyalty, and dependable nature. His presence brought comfort and reassurance, and his sense of humor and straightforward spirit left a lasting impression on those around him.

Dan made his living as a truck driver, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to doing a job well. He drove for Satterlund Supply Co. in Warren, Harrison Pipe in Midland, and Macomb Group in Midland. Through his years on the road, he developed the discipline and perseverance that came to define him. His work was not simply a job to him. It was a responsibility he took seriously, and he approached it with pride and dedication. The miles he traveled and the people he met along the way became part of the story of a life lived with purpose.

On May 27, 1989, Dan married the love of his life, Barbara Archibald, after the two met at a bakery in Farmington, Michigan. Their marriage was a lasting partnership built on love, companionship, and shared years together in Gladwin, Michigan. Barbara remained a central part of his life, and the bond they shared was one of the great blessings of his life. Together, they built a home filled with memories, family, and the steady rhythm of a life lived side by side.

Dan was a proud father and grandfather, and his family was one of his greatest joys. He is survived by his daughters, Margie Hoard, with Torrey Bryant, and Melissa Correa, with Dustin. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Madison Archibald, Jaxxon Archibald, McKenzie Correa, McKenna Correa, and Josephine Hoard, each of whom brought him pride and happiness. His family meant everything to him, and he treasured the time he spent with them. The love he gave to his children and grandchildren will continue to live on in the many memories they hold dear.

He was preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Rosemarie Archibald, his older sister Kathleen Coveyou (and Robert) and his older brother Stanley Archibald.

He is remembered by his older sister Elaine Carter (and Al) and younger brothers Timothy Archibald (and Tammie) and Raymond Archibald (and Tonya).

He is also remembered by a large and loving extended family, including his nephews Logan Archibald, Zach Archibald (and Erin) Terry Burrell (and Shelly) Kim Matson (and Steve) Dawn Nimmo (and Jeff), Jennifer Hart (and David) Jeffrey Carter (and Kristin) Paige Archibald, Kali Bryant (and Wesley) Cody Archibald (and Kerry) Travis, Tyler and Connor Archibald. He valued family ties and the connections that bound generations together. His life was enriched by these relationships, and he took pride in being part of a family that remained close in heart and spirit.

Dan enjoyed hunting and fishing, pastimes that allowed him to appreciate the outdoors and the quiet moments that came with them. These interests reflected his love of nature and his appreciation for simple, meaningful experiences.
