He was predeceased by: his parents, Ephriam Sova and Lauretta Sova; his siblings, Louis, Hazel, Leonard, Mabel, Alfred, Roy, Kenneth, Jean and Richard; and his children, Renee and Jean Sova.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth; his children, Doug Sova (Lisa), Mark Sova (Laurie), Matt Sova (Sheila), Denise Dragonov (John) and Brad Sova (Amy); his grandchildren, Kristina Sova, Kevin Sova (Christine), Renee Bowman (Kyle), John Dragonov (Sicilee), Jessica Baibak (Jake), Jordan Wilmot (Reed), Luke Sova, Brandie Sova, Mitchell Sova, Shaw Sova, Mason Sova, Emma Sova and Cole Sova; and his stepgrandchildren, Bruce Croft (Rachel) and Nichole Croft. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren; and 3 step great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made in Gary's name to The Wounded Warrior Project or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
