It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Ellen Lauter of Fowlerville, Michigan, born in Newberry, Michigan, who passed away on January 13, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Cory Kelley and Anne Kelley (Schwab); her husband Robert Lauter; her children, Robert A. Lauter and Nancy Thompson; and her siblings, Betty, William, Margaret, Judy, Nancy and Timothy.

She is survived by : her pet Hobbes; her children, Susan Smith, Judith Gau, John Lauter (Amy), David Lauter and Jennifer Steinhauser (Kenneth); her grandchildren, James, Michael, Jeffrey, Kris, Brian, Tammy, Jennifer, Lisa, Shelley, Bobby, Corey, Kent, Benjamin, Maryanna and Zach; and her daughter Dr. Lauren Phoenix. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Memorial contributions may be given to family for future designation.
