He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Hopp; his children, Melissa Iliff (Benjamin) of Saginaw, MI and David Kerns (Barb) of Bay City; his grandchildren, Hannah Peil (Zach), Andrew, Matthew Iliff and Emily Kerns; his stepgrandchildren, Becca Bowman (Bret) and Jessica Marker (Nick); his stepgreat-grandson Colson Marker; his sister Cynthia Hanley; and his brother-in-law Bruce Schuster.
