He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Kathleen Niemi; and his siblings, Norman (Lorraine), Helen Baakko, Wesley (Anita), Paul (Paulette) and Carol.
He is survived by: his sons, James Heikkinen (Judy) and Jeffery Heikkinen (MaryBeth); his siblings, Lillian Kehus (Richard), Jean Lehto, Janet Olson (Robert), Linda Wanhala, Diane Jurva (Leland) and Robert (Jill); and his grandchildren, Anthony, Jeffrey, Rachael and Risto. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces.
