With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gretna Van Fleet of Frankenmuth, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 18, 2026 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leta Sanford and Duane Sanford; her brother Doug Sanford (Darl Sanford); her brother-in-law Dick Solaro; her nephews, Joseph Sanford II, Bill Sanford and Roland Sanford; and her great-nephew Matthew Sanford.
She is survived by: her children, Marcia Sadowski (Dan), Amber Sykes, Grey Gustafson (Jill), Lisa Philyaw (Jordan), Edward Wright (Joe), Sarah Weiss (Mike), Jon Weirauch (Nicole), Amy Potoczny (Stan), Jake Bartlett (Sorcha) and Neil Bartlett; her foster daughter Jill Schroeder; her brother Joe Sanford (Joyce); her sisters-in-law, Mary Sanford and Jo Solaro; and her caregivers, Lori and Jessica. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
