He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward Maurer and Minnie Maurer (Puvalowski); his former life partner Pat; his siblings, Donald, Wilfred, Joan and Jean; and his stepson Dean Bartarian.

He is survived by : his children, Diane Fargo (Mark), Kevin Maurer (Carol), Brian Maurer (Penny), Scott Maurer (Lisa), Myron Maurer (Jodi) and Cindy Burg (Andrew); his stepchildren, Paul Liss (Melanie), Connie Day (Kasey), Kim Spreeman (Dan), Amy Bartarian and Brenda Raymond (Bill); his wife Marie; his sister Jane Messing (Richard); and his sister-in-law Betty Maurer.
