He was predeceased by: his parents, William Smith and Dorothy Smith (Drake); his daughter Judy Smith; his grandson Richard Smith Jr.; his great grandchild Braiden Smith; and his brothers-in-law, Charles Strube and Raymond Drake.
He is survived by: his wife Eleanor Smith (Strube); his sons, William Smith, Jr. (Jennifer), Richard Smith, Sr. (Racheal Ring) and Paul Smith (Secelia); his sisters, Jane Drake and DiAnna Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Donald Strube (Susan), James Strube (Carol), Edward Strube (Brenda), Shirley Medema (Dennis) and Diane Strube. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Hesperia American Legion Post 4075 S. (4075 S 198th Ave, Hesperia, MI 49421).
