He is survived by : his children, Karen Hebard (Mark) of Dallas, TX, Scott Ely (Wendy) of Spring Lake, MI and Timothy Ely (Anjoo) of Novi, MI.; his former life partner Kathryn Ely; and his sisters, Susan Cherveny (Mike) of Indian River, MI and Sara Sugrue (Hap Schadler) of Littleton, CO.. He is also survived by seven loving grandchildren.
