It is with sadness that the passing of James Eli Cooper in Fruitport, Michigan is shared. James Eli, born on June 20, 1942, passed away on September 30, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Cooper and Anne Cooper (Obradovich). He is survived by: his wife Mary Dawn; his children, Eli Cooper, Sarah Cooper, Annie Lengkeek (Bill) and Dawn Willis; his grandchildren, Crue Cooper, Nash Cooper, Roan Cooper, Knox Willis, Cooper Lengkeek, Reba Willis, Murphy Lengkeek, Sylvia Lengkeek and Boone Willis; his son-in-law Ben Willis; and his siblings, Ron Cooper (Mariann), Pattianne Feldt (Jim) and Ken Cooper (Sue).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Health at Home – Grand Haven or the VanAndel Institute Parkinsons Disease Center.
