He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert Cornell and Elta Cornell (Hansen); his wife Doris Hogston; and his brother Terry Cornell. He is survived by: his children, Richard Cornell, Karen Grace (James) and Kathy Mahoney; his grandchildren, Matthew Grace (Marissa), Kathleen Grace (Ryan), Christopher Grace (Jenna VanFleteren), Isabel Grace, Lauren Cornell and Trip Cornell; and his great grandchild Noelle Grace.
