He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor B. Oswalt and Anna Bell Oswalt (Fort); his wife Marilyn I. Oswalt; his daughter Debora L. Oswalt; and his sisters, Mary Ann Oswalt and Carol Miller (Oswalt).
He is survived by: his former wife Marilyn "Pete" Piper; his son James P. Oswalt (Theresa); his grandchildren, Darron J. Oswalt, Daniel P. Dawson, Anna E. Wright (Marvin), Audrey K. Brooks (Mark) and Andrew J. Oswalt; his great grandchildren, Journi, Lexah Dawson and Fisher Mark Brooks; and his siblings, Richard Oswalt (Patricia) and Susan Kinney (Marlon).
Visitation was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kempf Family Funeral Homes (2838 Capital Ave SW, Battle Creek, MI 49015). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025.
