It is with sadness that the passing of Janis Aivars (Galesburg, Michigan) is shared. Janis, born on April 9, 1945, passed away on August 14, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Janis will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Janis by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Janis is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Janis’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his mothers, Irma Kalnejais and Janis Zands; his wife Carol Aivars; and his brother Peteris Aivars. He is survived by: his brothers, Paul Aivars (Kathy) and Marty Aivars (Suzanne Tuinier); his sister-in-law Nora Aivars; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Owen, Mason Graves, Kaija and Kalvis Villenueve.
