She was predeceased by: her parents, Guadalupe Trevino Lopez and Hermelinda Chapa Velasquez Lopez; her husband Donald Starner, Sr.; her son John Grooten, Jr.; her brothers, Joseph Angel and Michael L. Lopez; and the father of her children John Grooten, Sr..
She is survived by: her children, Connie Grooten (Toni Gaskell), Gina Wesaw (Roger), Thomas Grooten and Lydia Chapa (Mary); and her siblings, Gregorio Lopez (Diane), Raymond Lopez (Tomilyn), Delores Lopez, Lucia Lopez, John Lopez (Rebecca) and Caroline Seybert (Mark). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions in Mary's memory may be given to the American Heart Association.
