Though Douglas may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Douglas touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Schubert and Helen Schubert (Walbrecht); and his sisters, Roberta Brugger and Barbara Spilker. He is survived by: his wife Carol Brening; and his brother-in-law Glenn Brening (Linda). He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews.
