He is survived by: his mother Marian Cottrell (Cherwinski) of Gaylord; his wife Donna; his sons, John Cottrell (Dawn) of Gaylord and David Cottrell (Jodie) of Bay City; his grandchildren, Lance Cottrell (Alaina), Liza Cottrell (Peter McGrath) and Logan Gary Cottrell; his sister Renee Nowicki (Henry); his brother-in-law Dan Pichan (Lynne); his nephews, Drew Pichan and Ty Pichan; and his niece Jennifer Brissette (Adam).
