James Ellwood Bonter Sr. Obituary
We are sad to announce that on August 31, 2022, at the age of 79, James Ellwood Bonter Sr. of Gaylord, Michigan, born in Petoskey, Michigan passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by : his parents, Lydia Bonter (Brown) and Louis Bonter; his siblings, Richard, Robert, Gerald, Douglas, Judy Martin and Udella Thompson; his brother-in-law Steve Hegdahl; and his parents-in-law, Hilda Hewitt and Ian Marsh.
He is survived by : his wife Ellen; his children, Jim Bonter, Pam McCulley (Leslie), Tommy Bonter (McKayla Troxell), Spencer Cheplak (Lisa) and Jon Cheplak (Brittney Pino); and his siblings-in-law, Denny Martin and Karen Krueger. He is also survived by many grandchildren, two great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Michigan, Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church Gaylord, and the American Legion Post #159 in Mackinaw City.
