He was predeceased by : his parents, Ward Mackie and Creo Mackie; and his brother Bill. He is survived by : his children, Thomas (Jan), Lori Lyn (Chris) and James; his grandchildren, Jon and Sabena; and his wife Irene Delores Florenski.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Melrose Township Fire Department, Northern Michigan Antique-Flywheelers Club or McLaren Hospice.
