He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer VanDrese and Evelyn VanDrese; his sister Grace Hughes; his brother-in-law Chuck Hughes; and his sister Carol Bugay.
He is survived by: his siblings, Dolores Goymerac (Mike) and Leland VanDrese (Betty); his brother-in-law Don Bugay (Mary Henderson); and his close friend Sherri Schorr. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Crawford Funeral Home - Escanaba (302 13th St S, Escanaba, MI 49829).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Elks Lodge #354 in Vern's name.
