Darlene A. (Edmonds) Davis, age 93, of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away on July 28, 2026, at Gladwin Pines in Gladwin. She was born on October 30, 1932, in Hope, Michigan, to the late Earl and Mabel (Michaels) Fillmore. Darlene lived a long and meaningful life marked by devotion to her family, a warm spirit, and a creative heart that touched those around her.
Darlene was united in marriage to Harvey Edmonds on July 6, 1957, and together they shared many years before his passing in 1978. She later married Jack Davis on March 17, 1979, and he preceded her in death in 2011. Through the years, Darlene remained a steady and loving presence for her family, and she found her greatest joy in the home she helped build and the people she cherished most.
She is survived by her children, Shirley Burrill and her husband Tim, Pam Lyons and her husband Tom, Mickie Bruner, Rebecca McKay, and Kevin Davis and his wife Marsha. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. In addition, she is survived by her sister-in-law, Marry Lou Fillmore, and many nieces and nephews who will remember her with love. She was preceded in death by a son, Max Edmonds, brother Sam Fillmore, Donna & Bill Howard and a son-in-law, Roy Bruner.
Darlene worked at several stores during her life, but her true calling was always found at home, where she devoted herself to caring for her family and creating a loving environment. She took pride in the simple but important things that made a house a home, and she carried that same care into every part of her life. Her family was the center of her world, and she gave generously of her time, her energy, and her heart.
In her younger years and throughout her life, Darlene enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching football. She also loved making floral arrangements and, in her later years, became an artist in her own way, expressing her creativity through her work and interests. Gardening brought her peace and satisfaction, and she especially enjoyed watching cardinals. Those who knew Darlene will remember her stubbornness as well, which was part of her strong spirit and her determination to do things in her own way. That same strength helped shape the loving, friendly, and creative woman she was.
Darlene will be remembered for her kindness, her warmth, and the love she shared so freely with her family and friends. She had a way of making others feel welcome and cared for, and her presence will be deeply missed. Her life was a testament to devotion, resilience, and the beauty of a life lived with heart. Though she is no longer with us, the memories she created and the love she gave will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
