Henry A. Hale Obituary

Celebrating the Life of Henry Hale.

Some people leave behind possessions. Others leave behind stories, laughter and love. Henry leaves behind all of these and so much more.

He was first and foremost a loving husband of 40 years, grateful every day for the life he shared with his wife, Terry. Together they created a family rooted in love, respect and unwavering support.

To his children, Nicole (Keith) Nichols and Kathleen (Stephen) Carey, he was a teacher, protector and their biggest fan. To his three wonderful grandsons, Reese Nichols, Bennett Nichols and Holden Carey, he was simply Grandpa - the one who always had time to listen, tell stories, share a laugh or offer a warm hug.

As a brother to Lynn (Joe) Miceli, Helen Hale, Suzanne Hale, William Hale and James Hale, he remained loyal throughout his life, valuing family above all else and maintaining close relationships that stood the test of time.

Henry was born to the late, Kenneth and Suzanne (Spieker) Hale and also cherished second parents (in-laws), Harley and Jean Brewis and his extended family with many brother and sister in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Looking back on the life he lived, Henry graduated from Largo High School, Largo FL in 1966, and immediately enlisted in the US Airforce. After his basic training, he was stationed at Wurtsmith Air Force Base, Oscoda, MI. He was then deployed to Hahn Air Force Base, Germany, a major NATO military installation, where he served as a Crew Chief on the F4D Fighter Jets. He served from 1966-1972.

His post-service career included designing and building large cooler systems at Carrier, Denver, CO., and a combined 30 years with AT&T and the Skanska Group as a Construction Project Manager.

In more recent years, he enjoyed golfing, listening to music and long drives.

Those who knew him will remember his kindness, humor and work ethic. His greatest accomplishments were never measured by awards or titles but by the love he gave so freely to his family and friends and the vibrant light he brought to the world.

While we mourn his passing, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a man who made the world brighter simply by being in it. His love will continue to guide us, and his memory will forever remain in our hearts.

Henry, who departed this life on July 29th at the age of 78, will be celebrated with a memorial service to be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at Lee-Ramsay Gladwin Chapel at 1:00 pm with Pastor Andy Fralick presiding, with inurnment at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11:00 am until time of service.
