Jane E. North Obituary

Jane E. North passed away peacefully at Gladwin Pines on April 23, 2025, following a short illness. Born on April 4, 1938, in Imlay City, Michigan, to the late George and Jennie (Lockwood) Rogers.

The story has it that Jane met the love of her life while she was a waitress at a drive-in restaurant when Robert North came in for a hamburger. Jane and her girlfriends put a real turtle between two buns and served it to him. Despite that "turtle burger," Jane married Robert, on May 16, 1958, in her hometown of Imlay City. Their marriage was a testament to commitment and togetherness until Robert's passing on October 31, 2014.

Jane's legacy is carried on through her children: Rick (Carrie) North, Todd (Monica) North, Michelle (Jeff) Hill, and Brenda (Kevin) Witbeck. She was a grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Mary Weaver and her son, Bryan North.

Her family and friends will miss her quiet strength and calm, gentle demeanor.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Gladwin Pines and Care Line Hospice for the compassionate care given to their mother during her time with them.

A private graveside committal will be held at the Butman Township Cemetery.
