Richard C. Grice Obituary

Richard C. "Dick" Grice, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, at Carriage House Bay City, Michigan. Born on February 27, 1944, in Gladwin, Michigan, to the late Ronald and Ruth (Carbeno) Grice, Dick's warmth and kindness touched all who knew him throughout his 81 years of life.

Dick's journey began in Gladwin, where he graduated from Gladwin High School and became a lifelong supporter of the school's athletic programs. His dedication to his hometown was a testament to his love for community and tradition. After high school, Dick began working at Dow Chemical before answering the call of duty to serve in the United States Army. Upon his return, he continued his career at Dow Chemical and later dedicated many years to the U.S. Postal Service in Gladwin, where he retired.

On March 20, 1970, Dick married the love of his life, Barbara J. Denino, in Junction City, Kansas. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, welcoming their children Brian Grice, Stephanie (Ken) Clark, and Kevin (Lara Livingston) Grice. Dick's joy multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren Benjamin, Drew (FaithAnn Brubaker), Ellie, Emmalee, Jordan, and Jada, and he was blessed to see the family grow with great-grandchildren Josie and Jack.

Dick's siblings, Bill (Diane) Grice, Gerald Grice, Connie McIntosh, and Bonnie (Albert) Trout, remember him fondly as a beacon of gentleness and kindness. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law Roger Minkina and sister-in-law Connie Grice, both of whom he held dear.

A member of the Gladwin Eagles Club, Dick relished in the camaraderie of playing Steak & Beer Bingo with friends. His interests were many and varied, including golfing, hunting, and bowling. Above all, Dick cherished the times spent with his family, whether it was sharing stories over a round of golf or enjoying an occasional Pabst Blue Ribbon. His presence at family gatherings was a source of joy and comfort, and his legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Described by those who knew him as friendly, kind, and gentle, Dick's impact on his community and loved ones was profound. His unwavering support, infectious smile, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Private funeral services will be held Saturday January 31, 2026 at 10:30 am at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home with family gathering at 10 am. Saturday with Burial in Grout Township Cemetery.
