Wanda Clara Ogg Obituary
Wanda Clara Ogg, age 96, of Gladwin, passed away on August 6, 2026, at MyMichigan-Gladwin following a brief illness. She was born on June 21, 1930, in Gladwin, the daughter of the late Karl and Clara (Bauman) Fanslau) Ogg.
Wanda lived a long and meaningful life marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and her community. On November 26, 1948, she married Lyle Ogg in Gladwin, and together they shared many years of love and companionship until his passing on March 21, 1998. Their marriage was blessed with a large and loving family, and Wanda took great pride in her children, Elmer (Carol Ross) Ogg, Evelyn (Thomas) Merchant, Arnold Ogg, Elvin Ogg, Arlene Ogg, Peggy Ogg, and Martha Ogg. She also cherished her 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, who brought joy and pride to her life.
Wanda was a woman of strong work ethic and steady service. She worked for the U.S. Post Office as a rural mail carrier, where she was known for her dependable nature and friendly manner. In addition to her postal career, she also did catering serving many in the area, sharing her talents and warm hospitality with many. Wanda further served her community as a Sage Township trustee, reflecting her commitment to helping others and contributing to the place she called home.
Faith was an important part of Wanda's life. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Harrison, where she served as organist for 75 years. Her music and faithful presence were a blessing to her church family and all who worshiped alongside her. She also served as secretary for the Golden Agers, where her kindness and willingness to help were deeply appreciated. Wanda's involvement in these organizations reflected the many ways she gave of herself to others.
Those who knew Wanda will remember her as loving, faith-filled, and friendly. She had a gentle spirit and a welcoming heart, and she made others feel valued and cared for. Her life was a fine example of quiet strength, devotion, and grace. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Ogg, and by 12 brothers and sisters.
Wanda's memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, church family, and all who were blessed to know her. Her legacy is one of love, service, faith, and dedication. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Funeral services will be held Monday August 10, 2026 at 11 am from Faith Lutheran Church, Harrison with Pastors Paul Fetzer and David Birsching presiding with burial in Ridge Cemetery. Family will receive visitors on Sunday at the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Gladwin from 2 to 6 pm and Monday at the church from 10 am until time of services. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Faith Lutheran Church of Harrison.
