He was predeceased by: his parents, Alonzo Vincent and Kathleen Vincent; and his son Rodney Vincent. He is survived by: his wife Rev. Elmira Smith-Vincent; his children, Rev. Tracy Chambers, Chaplin John (Karla Slappy), Tomika Slappy, Rev. Zetter Slappy and Dr. LaTesha Slappy; and his grandchildren, Alonia Slappy, Alanah Houston, Jabari Slappy, Micah Slappy, Cayman Chambers, Tyler Vincent, Jordan Vincent and Jael Mellon.
