He was predeceased by: his parents, Freeman Peace and Vivian Peace; his wife Vera; and his son Michael Ebel. He is survived by: his children, Terri Peace, Lee Ann Powell, Cherrie Beard and George Ebel (Amy); his daughter-in-law Linda Ebel; and his sisters, Carol (Maurice) and Bonnie Pugel (Tom). He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
